Miro Cellars (“us”, “we”, or “our”) uses cookies on the https://mirocellars.wpengine.com/ website. By using our website, you consent to the use of cookies.

Our Cookies Policy explains what cookies are, how we use cookies, how third-parties we may partner with may use cookies on our website, your choices regarding cookies, and further information about cookies.

What are cookies
Cookies are small pieces of text sent to your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the site to recognize you and make your next visit easier and our website and wine shop more useful to you.

Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser.

How Miro Cellars uses cookies
When you use and access our website, we may place a number of cookies files in your web browser.

What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you wines you’ve recently viewed or ordered from us
Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like locating stores near you where you can buy our wine
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and (of course) ship your wine to you.
  • We’ll also use cookies to keep track of the wines in your cart while you’re browsing our site and—if you choose—to email your shopping list to you for later purchase.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, age (you must be 21 years or older) billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our wine shop and Club Miro
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our shopping experience and wine shop offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders. If you are a member of Club Miro, we will show your Club discounts in your shopping cart.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 2 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses. We do not store your payment information on the web site.

We will also store your wine reviews, if you choose to leave them.

We use both session and persistent cookies on our site and we use different types of cookies to run the site:

  • Essential cookies. We may use essential cookies to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts.
  • Preferences cookies. We may use preferences cookies to remember information that changes the way the website behaves or looks, such as the “remember me” functionality of a registered user or a user’s language preference.
  • Analytics cookies. We may use analytics cookies to track information how the site is used so that we can make improvements. We may also use analytics cookies to test new advertisements, pages, features or new functionality of the website to see how our users react to them.

Third-party cookies
In addition to our own cookies, we may also use various third-parties cookies to report usage statistics of the website.
