With so many gold medals under his belt, why would Miro be so honored to win a silver for this gold medal-winning wine?

“In the Competition’s eight-year history, the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition (NYWSC) has established itself as one of the most respected judging events in the eastern U.S.A. Our judges—predominantly from the New York area—are among the wine and spirits industry’s most trusted authorities, not only on the subject of quality wines and spirits, but also on the regional tastes and trends that drive the wine and spirits markets.”

2013 Miro Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Silverwood Vineyard

“The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Silverwood Vineyard comes from Pine Mountain, in this case a vineyard at a 2,200-foot elevation. The color is deep ruby/purple and the wine offers plenty of blackberry and cassis, a nice touch of oak and licorice. It is full-bodied, rich, concentrated and impressive. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.”

2013 Miro Cellars Zinfandel Mancini Vineyard

“The delicious 2013 Zinfandel Mancini Vineyard comes from century-old vines that provide the essence of wild berry fruit, pepper, spice and plenty of black cherry and black raspberry. This is beautifully opulent, lush, sexy and classic Zinfandel. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.”

2013 Miro Cellars Petite Sirah Coyote Ridge Vineyard

“The 2013 Petite Sirah Coyote Ridge Vineyard from Dry Creek is highly extracted, dense purple slightly sinewy, without the suppleness one sees in the Zinfandel or Cabernet, but certainly loaded. I am sure that 20 years from now this wine will be performing a lot†better than it is out of bottle.”

Wine Advocate: 90 Points for 2012 Miro Cellars Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

“This limited production (300 cases) 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve comes from a lofty elevation of 2,200 feet. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by lots of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit notes intermixed with hints of white chocolate, earth and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannins and abundant character as well as craftsmanship, it should drink well for 10-15 years.”
