Winemaker's Notes: This relatively young vineyard is planted nearly at the top of Pine Mountain at 2200 feet elevation above the valley of the Russian River. The moderate temperature inversion at that altitude supports softer, richer tannins in the wine, concentrated wild berry aromas and enhanced varietal specific flavors of dark fruit, slight earthiness and subtle spices. 190 css made.
2007 Cuvée Sasha
Sorry! This wine is sold out.
THE CONCEPT: My goal was to create a distinctive, yet accessible GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre) blend. I’ve always had a special preference for the great wines of Southern France and with this inaugural release I’m offering my California version of this style.
THE CONCEPT: I made my first Petite Sirah 19 years ago and I’m still in love with the grape. Petite is truly an American variety—powerful, bold and unrestrained in its capability, and yet it needs a gentle winemaking approach to unveil its true identity. Order this wine online.
The Concept: After almost twenty years of being on the forefront of the Zin advocacy movement and making great Zins for other wineries I finally committed to making one for Miro Cellars. The evolution of Zin in my opinion is toward balance instead of power, terroir expression instead of the sameness of modern winemaking; elegance instead of brute force.
Winemaker's Notes: Finding and producing the ultimate Zinfandel has been my passion for almost two decades. This Zin, produced from an old-vine, head-pruned vineyard just yards from the bank of the Russian River, has come the closest to fulfilling this passion. Loaded with juicy delicious fruit and just a kiss of toasty oak and vanilla nuances, the wine is irresistible. Drink now through 2012. 190 cases made
